It came quickly and powered on quickly and was recognized by my acer laptop immmediately.

it works with my new acer netbook with windows 7 starter. At first for some reason when I hooked it up my netbook didnt recognize it. but after doing a mandatory windows update, I plugged it in and it worked!
So yes I guess it does work with windows 7 starter. thats a plus! my netbook recognizes it with no problem. Its a plug and play so no setup required.
The only thing I dont like is that it doesnt play dvds because some kind of decoder needs to be dowloaded first. but hey, not bad for the price.
